Services Agreement & Terms

Sky High Dog Training — Last updated: May 2026

This agreement is entered into by and between Sky High Dog Training ("Trainer") and the client ("Client") for professional dog training services. By booking or participating in any training program, you agree to the following terms in full.

1. Fees & Payment Terms

2. Cancellation & Late Policies

  • Rescheduling a private lesson requires at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in forfeiture of that session's fee.
  • If the Client is more than 15 minutes late to a scheduled private lesson, the session is cancelled and forfeited in full.
  • Missed group class sessions cannot be individually rescheduled or made up, as group sessions operate on a fixed calendar.

3. Group Class Scheduling Policy

A minimum of 4 handlers must be enrolled before a formal group class schedule can be created or finalized. If enrollment is below 4 handlers, dates remain tentative. Once the minimum is met, the schedule will be confirmed. If the minimum is not reached, alternative training credits or rescheduled dates will be issued at the Trainer's discretion.

The complimentary group class tracks included in private obedience and advanced packages begin immediately following the completion of the private package sessions.

4. Health, Behavior & Disclosure Requirements

  • The dog must be current on all required vaccinations — Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella — with proof provided prior to the first session.
  • The dog must be free of infectious diseases, fleas, ticks, and parasites.
  • If the dog is an unspayed female, the Client must immediately notify the Trainer if the dog enters or shows signs of entering her heat cycle. Female dogs in heat must pause group classes immediately.
  • Client must disclose all known behavioral history, including any history of aggression toward humans or other animals.
Important: Sky High Dog Training does not provide behavior modification or aggression rehabilitation. Failure to disclose past aggression is grounds for immediate termination of services without a refund.

5. Group Class Safety Rules

  • All dogs must remain on a secure, non-retractable 4-to-6-foot leash at all times. Flexi/retractable leashes are strictly prohibited.
  • Client must maintain a minimum distance of 3 to 6 feet from all other dogs and handlers at all times.
  • Client shall not allow their dog to approach or greet other dogs or humans without the Trainer's express permission.
  • For Youth-Only classes (ages 10–16), a parent or legal guardian must remain on-site for the entire duration of the class.

6. Training Tools & E-Collar Policy

For packages that include e-collar training (Basic Obedience, Essential Obedience, and Ultimate Obedient Dog), a professional-grade, trainer-approved e-collar is included in the package fee and provided to the Client to keep upon completion.

  • Only the trainer-provided e-collar or trainer-approved alternatives may be used during lessons.
  • The use of cheap, unapproved, or non-calibrated electronic collars is strictly prohibited for the safety of the dog.
  • Client agrees to use the approved tool strictly according to the calibration and safety guidelines demonstrated by the Trainer.

7. Liability Waiver & Indemnification

Client acknowledges that dog training involves inherent risks of injury or property damage. The Trainer is not liable for any injury, illness, or damage caused by the dog to itself, the Client, or any third party during or after the training period.

Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Sky High Dog Training against any and all claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of the dog's behavior or actions — especially regarding incidents relating to undisclosed aggression.

Due to the unpredictable nature of animal behavior, no guarantees are made regarding the final behavioral outcome of any training program.

8. Certificate of Completion

Until the Client receives a formal Certificate of Completion from the program, they are prohibited from claiming, advertising, or representing that their dog has been trained by Sky High Dog Training. Violation of this clause may result in immediate termination of services without a refund.

9. Photo & Video Release

The Trainer may request permission to use photographs and video recordings of your dog for promotional, educational, or social media purposes. This is entirely optional and will be confirmed in writing at the time of enrollment. You may opt out at any time.

10. Entire Agreement

This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties. Any modifications must be made in writing and agreed upon by both the Trainer and the Client. By booking services with Sky High Dog Training, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
